2024 United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship, USA

Selected Fellows of the United Nations Nippon Foundation participate in a four-month training program following the foundation curriculum. This is integrated by a highly customized personalized curriculum. It was developed in consultation with nominated States at OLA/DOALOS at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Applicants should familiarize themselves with the eligibility requirements and apply only

Awards will be communicated individually to successful applicants. It will then be posted on the Fellowship website in the second half of April 2024. The Fellowship will take place between mid-August and mid-December 2024.

Eligible Countries: All developing countries

feature:

  • Between 25 and 40 years of age
  • Have at least a university degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct research and advanced academic studies.
  • Coming from a developing state
  • Be a government official directly involved in strategic issues related to sustainability.
    Ocean and sea development (e.g. implementation of the 2030 Agenda for
    sustainable development; National and/or regional ocean policy Establishment of maritime zones and/or delimitation of maritime boundaries Coastal zone management Conservation and management of marine life resources Shipping and sea transportation maritime security Protection and preservation of the marine environment and/or marine science)
