Maine Dental Education Loan Repayment Program
Compensation amount: up to $80,000
You are a dentist working in Maine. In a disadvantaged area? Using the Maine Dental Education Loan Repayment Program You may be eligible for student loan forgiveness In the state of Maine, dentists must be licensed to qualify.
Additionally, you must work in a dental practice in an underserved area. You must serve every patient. and do not participate in any other programs funded by the National Health Service Corps.

Maine Health Professions Loan Forgiveness
Forgiveness Amount: May be up to $100,000.
If you are a health care professional in Maine You may be eligible through the Maine Health Professions Loan Forgiveness Program for student loan forgiveness.
There are two different requirements depending on when you take out your loan – before or after January 1, 2011. For loans made before January 1, 2011, the amount of student loan forgiveness for which you qualify will depend. It depends on the type of occupation.
For example, a physician who practices in an underserved area may be eligible to have 50 percent of the original loan amount forgiven for each year of practice.
On the other hand, health professionals work in general primary health care or general dentistry. Individuals (not in needy fields) are eligible for 25% of the original loan amount or $7,500 per year, whichever is greater.
Health professionals who took out a loan after January 1, 2011, may be eligible to receive $25,000 per year, up to a maximum of $100,000.
Compensation amount: up to $60,000
Maine residents who work for a Maine employer that is eligible for STEM careers may be eligible for the Alfond Leaders Maine Student Loan Assistance Program.
However, qualified applicants must repay no more than half of the remaining credit balance—up to $60,000. This program is available for undergraduate, graduate, and refinance loans. Loans from parents do not count.
Maine Veterinary Loan Program
Forgiveness Amount: Up to $100,000
You may be eligible for a forgivable loan through the Maine Veterinary Loan Program. If you are a student wanting to become a veterinarian in Maine.
